Queensland Government Dental Vouchers
If you’ve been putting off a dental visit because money is tight, you may be able to use a Queensland Government dental voucher at a participating private clinic. These documents are issued through Queensland Health oral health services (for example, Metro South Oral Health Services) and may help cover the cost of approved dental care.
What Is a Dental Voucher?
For eligible adults, Metro South Health may issue a general care coupon valued up to $750 or an emergency/urgent care voucher valued up to $260 for a specific issue that needs prompt attention. Voucher types and values are determined by Queensland Health and may change. Your oral health service will tell you what is covered and whether it contributes to all or part of the approved care.
What Can the Voucher Help With?
They are commonly used for needs such as examinations, fillings, extractions, dentures, and urgent dental concerns—within the scope of what your form. Some patients choose vouchers to access care in a participating private clinic, which may mean an appointment sooner than waiting for a public clinic booking, depending on availability.
Who May Be Eligible?
Eligibility is assessed by Queensland Health (not your dentist). In general, you’ll need Queensland residency, a Medicare card, and an eligible concession card such as a Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, Queensland Seniors Card, or certain DVA cards.
